Hello,

I hope all is well there.  I just wanted to let you
know that the Bermuda marathon was a huge success!!!!
What an amazingly beautiful place!!!  I actually ran
the race with a camera so I could take pictures of all
the beautiful places we ran past.  All I can say is,
the Air Force was incredibly foolish when they handed
over the AFB they had on Bermuda to the Navy, and the
Navy was even more dumb when they gave the base back
to Bermuda!!!!

Duke ran an incredible race especially since the
course was so difficult.  You wouldn't think Bermuda
would be that hilly, but the entire race was hills...I
think there may have only been about 1 to 2 miles of
flat land.  The winds were also working against us.
During the race there were gale force gusts of up to
40 knots.  (great when they are at your back, a major
obstacle at all other times)

Duke finished at 1:49.  I arrived a little later (a
lot later) at 2:34.  The marathon is actually two
loops around the course so I only got lapped by 2 guys
at about mile 11.  I got a picture of that.

Thank you so much for all your support for this race.
It was really an incredible experience not only to get
to go to Bermuda but to be a part of such a great
cause.  I will send you pictures.  It was amazing to
see so many team in training runners.  There are only
1800 people in the race, and about 500 of them were
with team in training. We really stood out in our team
shirts.

Thanks again for everything.
